SUMMARY:EFT Masterclass: Bridging Emotion and Eroticism Part 2. Desire Discrepancy\, Sexual Pain and Arousal Challenges
DESCRIPTION:Building on the foundations established in Part 1\, this masterclass will help therapists deepen their understanding of how to integrate sex therapy within the EFT model from Stage 1 through Stage 3. Participants will gain greater clarity in tracking both the emotional cycle and the sexual cycle\, including common interactional patterns such aspursue/withdraw and initiate/receive dynamics. Particular attention will be given to understanding how these cycles interact and how therapists can avoid the common mistake of assuming that the pursuer in the emotional cycle is necessarily the initiator in the sexual cycle\, or that the withdrawer is always the receiver. Distinguishing between these patterns often provides important insight into the complexity of desire discrepancy and sexual disconnection. \nThis workshop will explore how therapists can confidently bring conversations about sex into couple therapy\, assess and understand desire discrepancy\, sexual pain\, and arousal difficulties\, and gather more detailed information about couples’ sexual experiences. Particular attention will be given to helping couples identify theattachment-related meanings underlying their sexual interactions and understand how emotional safety\, vulnerability\, shame\, and responsiveness influence sexual connection.Participants will learn strategies for helping couples explore and share sexual shame both within and outside of therapy sessions\, creating greater openness\, empathy\, and secure bonding. Clinical interventions such as Sensate Focus\, Stop/Start techniques\, and the thoughtful introduction of adaptive sexual aids and toys will be discussed astools to help couples better understand their sexual cycle\, increase awareness\, and create new experiences of connection. \nThe workshop will also address ways of discussing sexuality with sensitivity and respect for diverse cultural\, spiritual\, and religious perspectives\, including considerations when working with multi-faith couples.Through case examples\, discussion\, and practical application\, therapists will leave with increased confidence and concrete interventions for integrating sex therapy and EFT in ways that support both emotional and sexual intimacy. This workshop is suitable for therapists at all levels of EFT experience who are interested in deepening their understanding of sexuality and attachment within couple therapy. Attendance at Part 1 is not required. The session will include a live demonstration\, offering participants an opportunity to observe EFT and sex therapy interventions in action and further develop their clinical skills. \nPrerequisite: No previous EFT training is required. Everyone is welcome! \nRefund and Cancellation: Cancellations made more than 30 days before training receive an 80% refund with 20% retained for admin work. No refund within 30 days. \nThe workshop begins at 11:00 am and ends at 2:00 pm (EST) on September 16th\, 2026 \nPresenters Bio \nMary Jane Millar\, MSW\, RSW is a Certified Emotionally Focused Therapist\, Certified Sex Therapist\, Approved Sex Therapy Supervisor\, and EFT Supervisor. She is co-founder of EFT South-Western Ontario and has extensive experience working with couples struggling with attachment injuries\, trauma\, and intimacy concerns. Her clinical specialties include working with military members\, first responders\, and individuals experiencing adrenalized anger\, as well as families impacted by intergenerational trauma. Mary Jane integrates attachment science\, Emotionally Focused Therapy\, and sex therapy to help couples create greater emotional and sexualconnection while fostering lasting relational change.

SUMMARY:October 2026 | EFIT Essentials
DESCRIPTION:EFIT is an attachment science-based approach to individual therapy that\, like the other EFT interventions\, offers an integration of humanistic experiential interventions focused on reshaping intrapsychic experience and systemic interventions focused on reshaping patterns of engagement with significant others. Emotion is given precedence because of its powerful role in structuring inner experience\, motivation\, and key interactional patterns in relationships. Emotion links and organizes core experience and interaction.Emotion moves people. Understanding the intuition of emotion and how to use it to create potent and sustainable change moves both the client and therapist. Sessions become more focused and effective. Corrective emotional experiences transform\, shift perspectives\, shift thoughts about self\, about trust\, confidence and competence. It is an organic process: when emotions are tapped into and used effectively\, a shift in thoughts naturally follows.Emotion is a reliable guide post\, and the destination is clear: secure attachment. The lens of attachment helps us to see and understand individuals in context. EFT provides us with the tools\, a roadmap\, to help each individual achieve a secure connection with themselves and their most important relationships. \nGoals: \nTo offer corrective experiences that positively impact models of self and other and shape stable\, lasting change. \nTo offer transformative moments where vulnerability is encountered with balance. \nTo enable clients to move into the accessibility/openness\, responsiveness and full engagement that characterizes secure attachment with others. \nTo enable clients to shape a coherent sense of a competent self that can deal with existential life issues and become a fully alive human being. \nTo help clients overcome stuckness and unlock their natural growth potential. \nTransform your practice – and your clients – with EFIT through this in person course. \n4 Day Event \nOctober 5\, 2026\, 9:00am – 4:30pm \nOctober 6\, 2026\, 9:00am – 4:30pm \nOctober 7\, 2026\, 9:00am – 4:30pm \nOctober 8\, 2026\, 9:00am – 4:30pm \nTotal Time \n24 hours \nLeanne and Robin first teamed up as a training duo in 2019\, and since then\, they’ve dedicated their focus to the growth and development of Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT). \nLeanne Campbell is the co-author of the Primer for Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT) and Emotionally Focused Therapy for Trauma\, written alongside Dr. Sue Johnson. As one of the world’s leading voices on using EFIT with trauma survivors\, Leanne travels globally to train therapists in this powerful model. \nRobin Williams Blake\, Founder and Director of the Toronto Centre for EFT since 2007\, is also known internationally for his work in helping therapists apply the EFT model to individual therapy in meaningful and transformative ways. Together\, Leanne and Robin bring both heart and expertise to their trainings—making this an event you don’t want to miss. \nFor those travelling from out of town\, our team is happy to share hotel recommendations and a curated list of fun things to do in Toronto. \nWe can’t wait to welcome you! \nGroup rates are available for groups of four or more. For details\, please contact us at info@tceft.caRefund and Cancellation: Cancellations made less than 30 days before training receive an 80% refund\, with 20% retained for admin work. \nWho is this training for? \nAll mental health professionals including psychiatrists\, psychologists\, family physicians\, social workers\, psychiatric nurses\, counsellors (including couples and family therapists)\, pastors and clergy\, and students training in these professions. School counsellors are permitted to attend if they are licensed and belong to a professional body that has standards of practice for psychotherapy/counselling. SUMMARY:Homeward Bound: A Journey to Safe Connection and Healing with EFFT/EFIT
DESCRIPTION:A Journey to Safe Connection and Healing with EFFT and EFIT \nHomeward Bound is a two-day\, 12-hour training designed for clinicians who want to deepen their understanding and application of Emotionally Focused Family Therapy (EFFT) and Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT). This training invites you to see how individual and family work are part of the same story—the story of attachment. You’ll learn how to support families by offering individual sessions when a family member feels stuck\, creating space to process emotional blocks\, deepen self-awareness\, and promote emotional accessibility and responsiveness in family sessions. \nYou’ll also explore how bringing family members into individual therapy can amplify the client’s growth\, allowing them to repair and strengthen important bonds. Together\, we’ll discuss how to navigate seamlessly between these modalities—without “switching hats” or diluting the model—by staying grounded in the core principles of Emotionally Focused Therapy. \nYou’ll leave this training equipped to: \nKnow when and how to incorporate individual work into family therapy—and vice versa \nUse EFIT interventions like emotion processing to unlock movement in family systems \nApply EFFT techniques\, such as enactments and family sessions\, to enrich individual therapy \nMaintain clarity about treatment goals while shifting between contexts \nUnderstand the boundaries and cautions of integrating EFIT and EFFT\, including key contraindications \nWe’ll also introduce the C.A.R.E. model of assessment (Context\, Attachment\, Relationship\, and Emotion Regulation) to deepen your understanding of clients’ relational and cultural worlds—ensuring your work is attuned\, ethical\, and effective. \nUltimately\, Homeward Bound is about helping clients reconnect—to themselves\, to their families\, and to the love and safety they long for. \nWhether you work primarily with families or individuals\, this training will help you bridge these two modalities to deepen client change and relational repair. \nPrerequisites are ONE of the following: EFT Fundamentals\, EFFT Essentials\, or EFIT Essentials. \nCEs will be available for purchase \nRefund and Cancellation: Cancellations made more than 30 days before training receive an 80% refund with 20% retained for admin work. No refund within 30 days. \nThe training begins at 9:00 AM (EST) and ends at 5:00 PM (EST) on both days
